Latigo:

Latigo is a strong, pliable leather that has little give and rarely rips, even under load. NoirLuna Leather prefers latigo for restraints because it is pliable yet has the strength to outlast its owners. Latigo's drawback is that it is usually available in only two colours, black and burgandy. All NoirLuna Leather latigo features hand beveled and burnished edges. This creates a rounded, slick glossy edge - not the rough, flat and sometimes stringy appearance of less finished materials. Burnishing also helps lock in the oils and dyes to make the leather last much longer.

Suede:

Suede is a soft pliable (usually cowhide) leather. When used in floggers, it has a nice thump with very little sting. The width of the falls and the supple softness of the double sided suede diffuse the energy of the throw creating a sensation resembling a relaxing massage. Perfect for warming up a scene, or for beginners to flogging. Yet in more experienced hands, such a versatile toy can provide a sensation that is literally breath-taking. Another wonderful aspect of suede leather is that it comes in a wide variety of colours.

Garment:

Garment leather is smooth on one side and suede on the other. It is very soft and flexible, and, of course is most commonly used for clothing. NoirLuna Leather uses garment leather to line some toys, as well as to make flogger falls. As a flogger, garment leather has a little more sting than suede but is still a very soft sensation toy. Like suede it can come in almost any colour of the rainbow.

Chap:

Chap leather, like garment, is smooth on one side and suede on the other, but heavier and less supple. This can create more thud than lighter materials like suede or garment leather, yet with less sting than floggers with braided falls. When used in other toys, it provides more pliability than latigo, while maintaining strength. NoirLuna Leather uses chap primarily for non-restraint applications.

Braids:

Round Braided Garment:

Garment leather is used to make our cat floggers of tight round braided garment leather falls. The leather is smooth and supple allowing the tails to move and bite with snakelike quickness. A sting-lovers best friend. Available in both thick and thin braided falls. The thickness of the falls also affect the feel.

Round Braided Suede:

Suede is also used to produce cat floggers but with tightly round braided suede leather falls. The suede leather falls provide an enticing combination of thud and sting.

Hardware: (D-rings, buckles, studs, rivets, etc.)

NoirLuna Leather uses top quality hardware that is chrome in colour, unless otherwise noted. When not for decorative purposes the hardware is heavy duty, of welded metal for strength and durability. Other metal finishes may be possible as a custom order, please feel free to contact us to inquire.
